Andrea Duncan (Principal)
Andrea is a graduate of Dalhousie Law School and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1994. As a family lawyer for more than 25 years, a parent, and a business owner, Andrea brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to her practice.
Andrea’s practice is based on the fundamental belief that every problem has a solution and strives to work with clients to find solutions tailored to their specific needs. She is passionate about families and is committed to giving her clients the personalized attention their legal issues require.
Andrea is a strong advocate for her clients, both as a negotiator and a litigator. She has extensive trial and courtroom experience, but recognizes that court is often a last resort, and regularly assists clients with alternate forms of dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation and arbitration. She is also a certified family law mediator.
When not at work, you can find Andrea with her daughters and her Bernese Mountain dog, enjoying the many adventures that Victoria has to offer.

Samantha de Wit (Associate)
Samantha’s family law practice encompasses negotiation, mediation, and (if necessary) litigation in order to resolve family disputes. Samantha is also a trained Collaborative Family Law lawyer.
The end of a relationship is a significant and emotional event in one’s life, particularly where parties have had children together and their financial lives have become intertwined. Samantha can assist you to navigate the tricky path forward, including resolving parenting issues, support issues and issues relating to property and debt.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Samantha immigrated to Canada with her family in the 1990’s. After receiving her LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 2009, Samantha gained valuable experience in the areas of child protection, family law, mental health law and criminal law. Following her call to the bar of Manitoba in June 2010, Samantha focussed her career on the practice of family law, first in Winnipeg and then in Victoria commencing in 2013.
Samantha is a significant contributor to the legal community, sitting on various executives with the Canadian Bar Association, the executive of the Victoria Bar Association, and as a previous Director of the Family Services of Greater Victoria. She is also a member of her local rotary group. She donates her time through Access Pro Bono Canada and enjoys quality time with her golden retriever and orange tabby.

Jill McMillan (Associate)
Jill represents clients in all family law matters, as well as estate planning, estate litigation, and real estate. Although clients may initially need assistance from a family lawyer, often other important aspects like one’s estate and real estate are impacted.
As a mediator and registered collaborative lawyer, Jill knows that the courtroom is not always the ideal venue for dispute resolution. Jill takes a collaborative approach to resolving her clients’ matters, while focusing on protecting her clients’ interests. Jill is on the executive of the Victoria Collaborative Family Professionals and is a passionate advocate for the Collaborative Process.
Jill obtained her law degree from the University of Windsor in 2007, was called to the Alberta bar in 2008, and the BC bar in 2019. Before practicing law, Jill obtained her B.A. in Spanish and Italian, completed an internship at a law firm in Madrid, and established her own business in Colombia. Jill loves cycling to work, stand up paddle boarding, and swimming in the ocean and nearby lakes.

Catherine has worked exclusively in family law, both in Manitoba and since her move to Victoria in 2017. She has developed a love for this city and on weekends likes to hike, find new coffee shops and explore the island. She enjoys yoga, reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Emma moved to Victoria in 2011 and started her journey in the legal field in 2017. Her work in assisting clients with their legal needs has brought her a sense of fulfilment and has fuelled her passion for the law. When not pursuing opportunities for improvement in her career, you can find Emma playing tennis, reading, spending time with her very needy cat, Jade, or taking pictures.
Janice has been a member of the Victoria legal community for many years. Her experience comes from working at the Court House Divorce and Family Departments, and private law firms. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her two cats; and is passionate about celebrating peoples differences.
